Lee Chai`ah Batterman is the author of Two Cents and a Milk Bottle, a Middle Grade Adult (YA) book. Although her current book, Upside-Down and Backward is the sequel to Two Cents and a Milk Bottle, it is also a stand-alone book.

She was born and raised in Brooklyn New York, by Russian immigrant parents. She graduated from Girl's Commercial High School and continued her education at Brooklyn College in the evenings after work as a dental assistant.

Lee began taking piano lessons as soon as she was married, and continued learning to play for the next ten years while she raised a family of three daughters. Two years into her marriage she became involved with art and studied at Brooklyn College, Artist In America School and various art schools under the auspices of prominent artists. She also did extensive art workshops in Italy and Mexico. With her broad background of art spanning more than 50 years, Lee has produced a vast amount of contemporary paintings, which have been exhibited and won awards in universities, galleries and museums in solo and group exhibitions along the east coast from Massachusetts to Florida and in private collections throughout the United States.

In 1989 Batterman began her studies of creative writing at the Palm Beach State College with Esther Gropper Feldman and Professor Barry Russo. She took creative writing courses at Portland University's Cannon Beach Campus, and has authored and published two young adult, middle grade books. Ms. Batterman's many short stories, articles and poetry have appeared in various magazines and newspapers. Her juvenile novel, Two Cents and a Milk Bottle, published by the Alef Design Group now has a sequel, Upside-down And Backwards. Currently, Lee Batterman is editing her third book, an adult novel, Kiblitch.

Lee Chai`ah Batterman lives in Palm Beach Gardens, FL where she continues to write her novels and paint.
